Don’t Fuck With The Original

We love a good holiday-themed horror here at the DFWTO podcast and tonight we're talking about the 2025 Valentine's Day comedy slasher "Heart Eyes" currently streaming on Netflix. Starring Mason Gooding from "Scream 6," Jordana Brewster from "The Faculty" and Devon Sawa from "Final Destination," "Heart Eyes" follows a masked killer with glowing heart eyes that targets couples on February 14th forcing 2 co-workers to survive the night as they are mistaken for a couple. If you haven't watched yet, SPOILER ALERT AHEAD, otherwise enjoy the episode!

Everyone has heard of the Bermuda Triangle, but most are unfamiliar with the Alaska Triangle. Covering most of the state from the cities Anchorage, Juneau, and Utqiagvik, this area consists of very dense forest and hidden caves that could make it very easy for people to go missing. Reportedly 20,000 people, most notable US Congressman Nick Begich and US Majority Leader Hale Boggs, have gone missing over the Alaska Triangle, which has been linked to paranormal &/or extraterrestrial activity. Are there rational explanations for these disappearances or is it something else that's unexplained?

Interview Number 2 with friend to the pod Grayson Sebert discussing her latest short film on YouTube titled "Toothsome." We first interviewed Grayson from Horrorhound 2023 for her award winning short, also on YouTube, "The Master" & even though both films deal with death, both are vastly different in terms of theme and dialogue. "Toothsome" tackles forbidden, eternal love with a twist. As mentioned, you can watch both of Grayson Sebert's films on YouTube & look forward to catching "Toothsome" on the film festival circuit this year.

Christmas movie review time! A lesser-known Christmas Horror film that gained cult status due to its praise from director John Waters, tonight we discuss the 1980 infamous holiday slasher, "Christmas Evil." A man driven insane from a traumatic event in his childhood goes on a rampage with a hatchet dressed as Santa Claus. Starring Brandon Maggart as Harry and Jeffrey DeMunn, beloved Dale from the Walking Dead, as Phil, this splatter psychological thriller is sure to be on your seasonal watch list, if not already. "Christmas Evil" is available for stream on Tubi and Amazon Prime.

A Christmas Murder in Scotland. Was this self defense or something more sinister? Melissa Young in December of 2013 claimed she killed Alan Williamson because he would not leave her home. When her story was not lining up with authorities, she changed it by stating she was under "demonic possession" and also upset Alan, her apartment neighbor for many years, did not like the Christmas gifts she had given him. Was Melissa really possessed at the time or did a mixture of drugs and mental illness have something more to do it with it? Listen in for tonight's true crime episode: Christmas edition.

It's that time of year guys! Back from a long break here to bring you all things spooky...holiday style. Kicking off this festive month, we have tonight's episode which is Horror Movies with Christmas themes, not Christmas Horror movies. We have talked about many holiday horror films in past episodes, and we'll have one again this December, but this time, we wanted to talk about horror films set around the holidays. In non-horror terms, think more Batman Returns, less Home Alone: one is set at Christmas, the other is about Christmas. Tonight should be a fun one! Did any of your favorites make our lists?

Our long awaited episode guys! Tonight we will be discussing the Hell House LLC series, from the first film that came out 10 years ago to the most recent & final installment, Hell House LLC: Lineage. The premise of the films center around the Abaddon Hotel in New York, Andrew Tully and Patrick Carmichael, but the series as a whole casts an even wider net with a host of characters that have a strange connection whether they want to or not. Spoilers ahead for all 5 films so if you haven't seen them yet, the entire Hell House LLC series is streaming on Shudder.
