Don’t Fuck With The Original

Bringing you another Cinephreak Pictures interview, courtesy of Jakob Bilinski, tonight we're speaking with Joe Atkinson, director and writer of the film, Wet Bulb Temperature, which is making its way thru the festival circuit having already won Best Feature Film at the Victory International Film Festival. The log line for the movie reads: "When three college students find themselves isolated, thousands of miles from home, at the beginning of the climate apocalypse, they must battle the elements, the others around them, and even themselves as they attempt to survive in this dystopian thriller." This was another great interview and as always, support indie filmmaking.

Kicking off spooky month with a haunted location across the pond, tonight we're discussing the Borley Church and Rectory, both described as the most haunted places in England. The church, dating back to the 11th century, and the rectory, dating back to the 1800s, have both had their share of paranormal activity, from unexplained sightings & footsteps, disembodied voices and even phantom sounds of church bells & organ music. The rectory caught fire and the remains were demolished in the 1940s, but the church still stands, even having been investigated by researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren in the 1970s. We hope you enjoy tonight's episode; happy October everyone!

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Tonight we're discussing the final Conjuring film, The Conjuring: Last Rites. Another movie featuring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren this time discussing the real life Smurl Haunting in Pennsylvania as well as tying in their daughter Judy, who is now an adult, engaged to her boyfriend Tony Spera who in real life took over ownership of the Warrens' occult museum after the real life Warrens' passed in 2006 and 2019 respectively. This was an emotional roller-coaster to say the least with well timed jump scares making this the best in the franchise since the original. If you guys want more information about the Warrens' we highly suggest reading The Demonologist and for more info about the Smurl Haunting, read The Haunted.

We are always discussing our fave horror films on the podcast but we've never discussed our favorite animated horror films which there are more of than we thought. We will be discussing both animated films and shows as well as a few horror animes that Casper enjoyed. Some of these are from childhood, some we didn't watch until we were adults but still enjoyed. Not all of these are kid friendly, just as a forewarning to the parents out there. If there are any we didn't mention tonight, please email or message us your suggestions.

Well, there certainly are quite a few of those in the horror community! So, tonight we here at DFWTO podcast decided to share our own unpopular opinions in horror. We share our thoughts with you guys in this certain to be interesting episode.

This mother's love knew no bounds. Tonight is a different kind of true crime episode. We're discussing Marianne Bachmeier, a German woman who in 1981 shot and killed, in court, the man who assaulted & murdered her 7 year old daughter. A 1996 film starring Sally Field called "Eye For An Eye" is similar to the case but based on a 1993 book by the same name. Is vigilante justice warranted in a case like this or is it never the answer to take the law into your own hands? Major Trigger Warning on this episode.

We're back guys! Tonight is part 5 of our WTF was that Ending series and tonight we're discussing the 2011 found footage space film "Apollo 18," which tells the story of the cancelled Apollo 18 mission that actually did land on the moon but never returned because of what they discovered. The ending to this wasn't terrible like most in our series, but it was a bit lackluster for our taste, so the DFWTO crew decided to give it something a little extra. We will discuss our ending ideas as well as original alternate endings that the creators of the film decided to pass on. "Apollo 18" is currently streaming on Tubi.

Tonight is a listener's suggestion from Texas about a haunted location in... you guessed it, Texas. Miss Molly's Hotel in Fort Worth was formerly a bordello turned bed & breakfast that reports many instances of paranormal activity. From phantom sounds to whistling, touching and being watched, you name it, Miss Molly's has got it. Are these from patrons or madams of the former brothel and bar, or something more sinister? Would you visit Miss Molly's Hotel and stay for a spell or would the spirits chase you off like so many others before?

Enjoy tonight's spooky location episode!

Between 1987 and 1989 in a small town in Rhode Island, a teenager named Craig Price, at the ages of 13 and 15, killed 4 people, 2 being young children. (*Trigger Warning*)

A young Black man with a violent past filled with drugs, gangs and burglaries, he blamed the murders on racism while the system blamed the murders on his complete lack of remorse. Before being released at 21, he was convicted on a technicality that kept him in prison. Now 51 and still in prison after 2 violent assaults while incarcerated, do you think he can be rehabilitated or should he stay in prison due to his brutal nature? Listen tonight to decide.

Hey guys! Listen in tonight as we announce the winner of last week's 300th episode trivia contest. And big congrats to our winner!

Now, getting into this episode, we are back with our WTF was that Ending? series with the 2020 movie "Brahms: The Boy II." This sequel to 2016's "The Boy," whereas the original had a surprise ending that moviegoers loved, the ending to "Brahms: The Boy II" fell more than flat. So we, Casper & Becky, will rewrite the original ending, because sometimes you fuck with the original, and come up with our own finales that, in our opinions, fit the movie better. If you have your own ending you'd like to share, email us at Dfwto8493@gmail.com.
