The Children of God, founded in 1968 by leader David Berg, started out with good intentions, but grew more sinister and perverse as Berg rose to power. Sexual abuse against children was systemic as well as physical abuse and isolation from the outside world. Actors River Phoenix and Rose McGowan were even former members, speaking out later about the abuse they witnessed/suffered. Be warned: tonight is a heavy one but meant to bring awareness to this group that still exist today, now known as The Family International.

Centralia/Silent Hill

Centralia, Pennsylvania is the site of a coal fire that has been burning underground since 1962 which led to the town being abandoned in 1984. The fires are still burning and will be for the next 200+ years. Centralia along with the 1999 video game gave inspiration to the 2006 movie adaptation "Silent Hill" which is about a town in West Virginia abandoned due to coal fires and a radical religious cult that unleash a hellish evil. We discuss tonight the parallels & differences between the real Centralia and fictional Silent Hill.

Evil Dead Rise

The fifth installment of the "Evil Dead" film series, "Evil Dead Rise" was released this year and currently streaming on MAX. A family finds the Book of the Dead and is terrorized for a night trying to survive the Deadites that have risen. Executive produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, of original "Evil Dead" fame, but directed by newcomer Lee Cronin, this is sure to be a favorite amongst fans of the franchise. The Buddhafield Cult

Documentary filmmaker and former cult member Will Allen compiled hours of footage from his time in the Buddhafield cult to make the documentary "Holy Hell" about his 22 years under the control of a guru named Michel/Andreas who systematically brainwashed, controlled and abused members until most of them left, Part of the cult still survives today in Hawaii. The Uncanny Movie Interview
