Years of speculation have baffled this case in the small town of Mason City: was this a jealous boyfriend? A stalker? So many mysteries abound. Pennsylvania Dutch Magic

Tonight's episode is about a mythical practice dating back over 300 years that made its way to America thru European, namely German, immigration: that practice is called Pennsylvania Dutch Magic or Braucherei (pronounced "BROY-ker-eye.") It is a Christian folk practice that includes a range of healing rituals used primarily for treating ailments in humans, livestock, and crops, as well as securing physical and spiritual protection. Although it became less visible in the 1920s, Dutch Magic has more recently inspired new religious movements. A folk magic episode just in time for Halloween!

Wet Bulb Temperature Interview

Bringing you another Cinephreak Pictures interview, courtesy of Jakob Bilinski, tonight we're speaking with Joe Atkinson, director and writer of the film, Wet Bulb Temperature, which is making its way thru the festival circuit having already won Best Feature Film at the Victory International Film Festival. The log line for the movie reads: "When three college students find themselves isolated, thousands of miles from home, at the beginning of the climate apocalypse, they must battle the elements, the others around them, and even themselves as they attempt to survive in this dystopian thriller." This was another great interview and as always, support indie filmmaking.

The Borley Rectory

Kicking off spooky month with a haunted location across the pond, tonight we're discussing the Borley Church and Rectory, both described as the most haunted places in England. The church, dating back to the 11th century, and the rectory, dating back to the 1800s, have both had their share of paranormal activity, from unexplained sightings & footsteps, disembodied voices and even phantom sounds of church bells & organ music. The rectory caught fire and the remains were demolished in the 1940s, but the church still stands, even having been investigated by researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren in the 1970s. The Conjuring Last Rites

*SPOILERS AHEAD* 

Tonight we're discussing the final Conjuring film, The Conjuring: Last Rites. Another movie featuring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren this time discussing the real life Smurl Haunting in Pennsylvania as well as tying in their daughter Judy, who is now an adult, engaged to her boyfriend Tony Spera who in real life took over ownership of the Warrens' occult museum after the real life Warrens' passed in 2006 and 2019 respectively. This was an emotional roller-coaster to say the least with well timed jump scares making this the best in the franchise since the original. Horror Animation

We are always discussing our fave horror films on the podcast but we've never discussed our favorite animated horror films which there are more of than we thought. WTF Was That Ending Series - Part 5

We're back guys! Tonight is part 5 of our WTF was that Ending series and tonight we're discussing the 2011 found footage space film "Apollo 18," which tells the story of the cancelled Apollo 18 mission that actually did land on the moon but never returned because of what they discovered. The ending to this wasn't terrible like most in our series, but it was a bit lackluster for our taste, so the DFWTO crew decided to give it something a little extra. We will discuss our ending ideas as well as original alternate endings that the creators of the film decided to pass on. "Apollo 18" is currently streaming on Tubi.
